Play & Favourites

Loves

Anything on two wheels. She’ll ride to the end of the road and back, twice, and narrate the whole thing.

Hard nos

Won’t wear socks with a seam across the toe — she can feel it through her shoe and will not let it go. Ask before you dress her.

Screens

Half an hour after dinner, then it’s off — no negotiating for ‘five more minutes.’

Quirks & Comforts

At bedtime

A real chatterbox — she’ll talk your ear off. It’s usually how she processes her day. Ask about her highlights and chat for 10 minutes or so, then lights out.

Comfort object

Bunny ‘Flops’ — must have him to fall asleep.

Triggers

Gets upset if rushed. Give a 5-minute warning before any transition.

Routines

Bedtime

8pm, clean teeth, read two books, then lights out.

Dinner

Loves pasta but is generally a good eater — just no nuts anywhere near her plate.

Naps

Dropped naps a while back, but if she’s had a big day she’ll sometimes need quiet time on the couch around 4.

Emergencies

Allergies

Peanuts — EpiPen in the front pocket of the blue bag.

Medications

The brief is locked on your phone before it’s uploaded — the server can’t read it. It’s deleted when the link expires or you revoke it.

Share what matters.

Generate a brief and add an optional note for the sitter. KidBrief uploads an encrypted link your sitter can open without the app. You set the expiry date.

Not just the emergency stuff. The everyday stuff too.

The allergy matters. So does the night-light, the favorite cup, and the exact way bedtime usually goes.

Emergencies

Our neighbor across the street (no. 143) is a doctor. If the white Tahoe is out the front, she's at home.

Family information should feel private—because it is.

KidBrief was built by two parents with privacy at the core of every decision. Your saved family profile lives on your phone, not the cloud. Only the brief you choose is prepared for a sitter, and it’s sent via an encrypted link that expires.

On your device

Your saved family profile—kids, contacts, routines, house details, and photos—is stored locally on your iPhone. KidBrief does not upload that full profile to a cloud account.

Only people with your link can read it

When you share, KidBrief creates a separate sitter brief containing only the details you choose and encrypts it on your phone. The server receives unreadable encrypted data; the key stays in the private link you send.

Expiring and revocable

Choose an expiry of 24 hours, 48 hours, 3 days, or one week. You can revoke the link sooner whenever you need to, so an old handoff does not stay open indefinitely.

Covered for the sitter years.

Choose a year at a time, or cover the early years in one go. We’re in private beta—request an invite now and you’ll be first in line to subscribe at this price when we open up.
